The UT4 is a UKRTAC body armor that embodies all the best characteristics for the protection and comfort of soldiers. This is a Ukrainian product that competes with the most famous foreign analogues. It can be additionally equipped with a rifle, groin protection, shoulder and neck protection, assault backpack and ballistic helmet.
The plates of class 4 of DSTU 8782:2018 “Lightweight BZ” produced by Arsenal Patriot are tested by firing a sharp-edged bullet of 5.54×39 caliber with a steel heat-strengthened core in a steel shell lined with tompak, 7H10 (speed 910±3 m/s, weight 3.6 g. and a 7.62×54 sharp-edged bullet with a non-heat-strengthened steel core in a steel shell lined with tompak, rifle cartridge 57-H-323s (speed 850±15 m/s, weight) from a distance of 10±0.5 m.
The UKRTAC side protection armor package withstood a 9×18 pistol bullet (velocity 345±1 m/s) with a spherical head with a non-heat-strengthened steel core in a steel-in-steel jacket, lined with tomahawk, 57-H-181s cartridge (Makarov pistol) and 9×19 Luger bullet (velocity 409±1 m/s) in a full metal jacket made of copper alloy with a hemispherical nose with a soft (lead) core, according to DSTU 8782:2018 “Personal protective equipment. Body armor.”, for the 1st class of protection. The depth of the out-of-plane deformation does not exceed 22 mm.
